Distribution
Distribution is the process in which your music gets into shops and music download sites. In a nutshell, distribution companies sign deals with the repertoire owner which gives the distribution company the right to sell the music on to their accounts (physical or digital retailers).
It could take a minute to find the right distributor, especially if you’re independently releasing your own single(s) and album(s). There are many facets of a deal with a distributor, and it’s important to know what the distribution company is responsible for, what your expectation should be, and what the cost implications are.
Topics could include the difference between licensing and distribution, submission and policies of distributors, pricing, retail vs. wholesale, reach of distributors, etc.

Barcodes
In order to sell your product, you will need a barcode. Not all distribution companies have their own barcode system or you may opt to distribute your product to select retailers – for these situations, you can purchase your unique barcodes from Arising Artist.
Barcodes cost £35 (ex vat) and are for Europe only.
