Arising Artist is een onafhankelijk A & R bedrijf.

A & R staat voor Artist & Repertoire.

Bijna elke platenmaatschappijen heeft een A & R afdeling waar nieuw talent ontdekt en getekend wordt en daarna geëxploiteerd. Dat is de afdeling waar je als artiest ook altijd je demo’s naar toe stuurt. Alleen het aantal keren dat ze nog mogen ontdekken, tekenen en exploiteren is de laatste jaren enorm afgenomen. Begrijpelijk, want ieder platencontract vergt een enorme geldelijke investering en het is niet altijd zeker of de gedane investeringen terug verdiend gaan worden.

Begrijpelijk dus dat veel artiesten zelf een start maken via onder meer Myspace.com, Youtube.com of via Tv-programma’s dat nieuw talent een kans geeft. En die start gaat de artiesten zelf vaak goed af.

Maar zoals iedereen in zijn carrière opbouw zal merken, komt er een moment dat er geïnvesteerd moet worden om je carrière naar een hoger plan te tillen. Bij muzikanten is de kwaliteit van de song wel heel belangrijk. Dat is namelijk de basis van zijn carrière.

Je maakt een afspraak met Arising Artist om 3 songs te laten beoordelen. Je stuurt deze in per post of mail; geeft aan waar ze op internet te beluisteren zijn of een andere manier. Onze A & R manager beoordeelt je songs op: tekst en muzikaliteit en zal een schriftelijk verslag maken van zijn bevindingen. Deze ontvang je na beluistering per mail retour.

One to One:                                                               Prijs € 135,- excl. BTW

Je maakt een afspraak via Arising Artist voor een persoonlijk gesprek met onze A & R manager, waarin je 3 songs beluisterd worden en voorzien van een mondeling commentaar. Duur 1 uur.

Live:                                                                            Prijs op aanvraag

Je maakt een afspraak via Arising Artist met onze A & R manager die op jouw verzoek bij je in je oefenruimte langskomt of bij een liveoptreden. Na afloop zal hij mondeling zijn commentaar leveren over bijvoorbeeld songkeuzes, teksten en compositie, kwaliteit bandleden en styling.

EAN Barcode (13 cijfers)                                     Prijs € 150,- excl. BTW

Een barcode is een streepjescode die je tegenwoordig op alle producten tegenkomt en die uniek is om jouw product, CD of DVD of andere geluidsdrager te onderscheiden van alle andere producten. Bij distributie van een geluidsdrager is het bijna altijd verplicht, maar ook bij digitale uploading naar officiële downloadwinkels wordt vaak om een barcode per product gevraagd.

Wanneer de barcode bij ons is afgenomen, bieden wij de volgende diensten     GRATIS aan:

- Arising Artist zorgt voor een labelcopy. Dit is een overzicht van alle tracks die op je album verschijnen met belangrijke data als tracktijden, wie is de tekstschrijver, wie zijn de uitvoerenden; toe te voegen bij Stemra-aanvraag “Eigen Beheer” om de CD te kunnen persen.

- Arising Artist voegt (op verzoek) aan deze labelcopy op trackniveau de ISRC-code toe. (ISRC = International Standard Recording Code). Deze is sinds 1 januari 2005 verplicht gesteld door de Sena en wordt door de masterstudio toegevoegd op het niveau van de PQ-code.

- Arising Artist geeft geen oordeel over de creativiteit van jouw artwork. Wel bieden wij aan om je artwork technisch en promotioneel te beoordelen en vrijblijvende adviezen te geven.

En hoe zit het met de promotie van je CD-album + singlekeuze?

Dat gaan we als volgt onderverdelen:

A:    Radio- & Tv-promotie    -    Nationale zenders + regionale zenders
B:    Radio promotie        -    Lokale radio’s
          
Zoals eerder gezegd, promotie is een zeer belangrijk onderdeel van je marketingcampagne om je artiestennaam + CD-album onder de aandacht van professionals en consument te brengen.

Via Arising Artist huur je daarvoor een gekwalificeerde dienst in, In het vakjargon noemen ze deze promotieman of -vrouw een “plugger”.

Een plugger gaat op verzoek en tegen betaling van een platenmaatschappij een artiest (CD/ Cd-single) promoten bij alle nationale en regionale radio- en TV stations, waarvan hij verwacht dat ze geïnteresseerd zijn in deze CD/ DVD die hij promoot. Iedereen kent iedereen in het kleine wereldje dat ‘Hilversum’ heet. Dus ook een plugger heeft wat te verliezen. Dus hij moet in jou als muzikant en je CD geloof hebben en een CD of DVD moet er dan ook goed zijn.

Je kunt bij Arising Artist deze dienst tegen een zeer aantrekkelijk tarief inhuren:

Pakket 1:                            Prijs € 225,- excl. BTW
        
Je overhandigt de plugger plusminus 60 albums + 60 cd-singles (CDR) + 60 biografieën. De plugger gaat hiermee langs radio- en TV stations en spreekt met programmeurs, redactiemedewerkers en Dj’s. In deze gesprekken promoot hij jou als artiest en je CD/DVD en vraagt of ze ernaar willen luisteren om in een volgende ontmoeting zijn/haar mening te horen met als doel: Zal de single gedraaid gaan worden? En als je een videoclip hebt: Deze wordt dan ook geplugd bij MTV / TMF en The Box.


Pakket 2: (inclusief pakket 1)                     Prijs 875,- excl. BTW

Start is zoals pakket nummer 1, maar plugger zal plm. drie maanden promotie blijven maken. Het is de taak van de artiest om de plugger te blijven voorzien van nieuwe argumenten, zoals geplande optredens, nieuwe ontwikkelingen binnen de band etc.


B.    Radio promotie  - Lokale radio                Prijs 125,- excl. BTW

De stichting Conamus, Mega Charts en OLON produceren gemiddeld iedere 14 dagen in een samenwerkingsverband een verzamel-cd van Nationale binnenkomers in de Mega Charts top 100. De Nederlandse platenmaatschappijen en Arising Artist krijgen de kans om ook een track op deze CD te kopen bij voldoende vrije ruimte. En dus ook voor jou een mooie extra kans om goedkoop promotie te maken. Deze CD zenden ze naar 298 lokale radiostations.

July 11, 2008:

Professor Green, managed by ArisingArtist's very own Ged Malone, was at one stage the number two battle MC in the world. The last few years though have seen Pro Green sign to Mike Skinner's label, The Beats, and working on his forthcoming debut album which meant battling was put on hold. This was until a challenge was set...

On Wednesday 9th July Pro Green battled at the Jump Off for the first time in almost three years. What forced Pro Green out of retirement...? £50,000 worth of MySpace promotion. His opponent? Stig of the Dump. The event was set and the hype began:

Roll on Wednesday 9th July!

The Astoria 2 was packed, the crowd was ready and both Pro Green and Stig were pacing about in anticipation. In the end it was a three round battle with some serious lines that certainly wouldn't be suitable to print here but no doubt you'll get the drift... It went all the way but Pro Green received the public vote as well as a unanimous jusges decision. So as it stands Pro Green remains the number one Jump Off battle MC and is £50k richer in the MySpace promotion department.

ArisingArtist would like to congratulate both Pro Green and Ged Malone for their success and hope that forthcoming album will benefit from the MySpace promotion to go multi platinum.

Last Friday ArisingArtist had its first international visitor. Nicolas Crausaz flew in from Switzerland to have a one-to-one meeting with Ged and Simon. The Swiss based percussionist came armed with new material and a whole host of questions. Given the smiles in the picture it looks like the session went pretty well...

May 22, 2008:

Today is the day that the songwriters get to rear their heads and attend the annual Ivor Novello Awards. Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash and the Klaxons plus their respective writers are all up for nominations and its always good to see those behind the scenes getting a little bit of exposure and credit.

13 April, 2008:

Yesterday saw Simon Burke-Kennedy sit on a Music Tank panel specifically aimed at 14 to 18 year olds who have an interest in music and making a career out of music. The event took place at Rough Trade East just off Brick Lane in London and a number of young people turned up to hear what a handful of music industry professionals had to say on the topic of 'Buzz Building For The Digital Teenage Generation'.

In addition to Simon other experts on the panel included Harry Leckstein (Freeport Records), Alfie Dennen (MoBlog:Tech) and Rob & Chris from the band Enter Shikari. The event went well and the young crowd were very responsive.

So we've been up-and-running for about three weeks now and things are in full swing. It's fair to say that Ged and I are being kept busy with all your submissions, requests and meetings which is great. 14 April, 2008:

The first of our one-to-one meetings took place last week and the feedback has been great. Kate Dowman and Peter Appleyard joined us in the ArisingArtist offices and both made use of our introductory offer by choosing the one-to-one session service. Feedback from both Kate and Peter has been very positive and we hope that this will continue as ArisingArtist develops.

This weeks sees Ged and Simon host another few one-to-one meetings as well as working through the first batch of songs that have been submitted for feedback.

Yesterday we contacted the people on our TuneTribe database to let them know about the launch of ArisingArtist.com and our introductory offer. We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the response as hundreds of bands and musicians replied.

In fact, so pleased were we with the reaction that we have extended the number of free consultations in the introductory offer to 25. Congratulations to all you early birds, if you haven't heard from us already you will by the end of today.
